ICAR-CIFRI Annual Sports 2025: A Celebration of Unity and Excellence

ICAR-CIFRI enthusiastically celebrated the Annual Sports 2025 on January 15–16 at the institute headquarters. The event on the institute's grounds saw a lot of participation, collaboration, and healthy competition. During his remarks at the opening, the director of ICAR-CIFRI, Dr. B. K. Das, discussed the potential mental and physical benefits of sports to human health. A major point of his speech was the significance of events like this in creating team spirit and solidarity among workers. In addition to athletics and team sports like cricket and volleyball, the sporting spectacular offered a wide variety of indoor games like table tennis, chess, badminton, and carrom. The contestants' unwavering passion and concentration during the entire competition were truly remarkable. Good sportsmanship was on full display because of the encouraging yet competitive atmosphere. Some of the most noteworthy performances were the thrilling cricket match and the breathtaking volleyball competition, along with the tug of war.
The highlight of the closing ceremonies was the award ceremony, which honours the achievements of the event's participants and winners. The sports organization's secretary expressed his gratitude to the event's organizers and attendees after the ceremony concluded. The Annual Sports 2025 at ICAR-CIFRI reaffirmed the institute's commitment to promoting a balanced lifestyle and honoured the athletes. It restated the institute's mission to encourage excellence, self-discipline, and harmony. Everyone felt rejuvenated and eager for next year's celebration as the event came to an end. Dr. Dibakar Bhakta, Dr. Gunjan Karnatak, Mr. Kausik Mandal, Mr. P.R. Mahata, Mr. D. Singha, Mr. S. Baneerjee, Mr. M. Roy, Mr. Jayanta Pramanick, and Ms. Sumeda Das coordinated the overall sports events with the support of CIFRI Recreational Club, and the Extension and Training Cell.
