ICAR-CIFRI participated in the Exhibition on the occasion of National Conference on Hill Agro-Ecosystem: Challenges and Opportunities for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (HAES-COSDG, 2024) organized by Indian As

sociation of Hill Farming & ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Medziphema, Nagaland. The Conference was held at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Medziphema during 29-30th November, 2024. His Excellency, Hon'ble Governor of Nagaland, Shri La. Ganesan visited and inaugurated the CIFRI Exhibition Stall on the occasion of the National Conference. His Excellency was briefed upon the activities of ICAR-CIFRI in all the eight North-East India during his interaction with CIFRI scientists. From ICAR-CIFRI, the participating team was led by Dr. B.K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI Barrackpore, along with Dr. Raju Baitha, Senior Scientist and Dr. Simanku Borah, Scientist. Further, in the conference, Dr. B.K. Das co-chaired the session on ‘Frontiers in Livestock and Fish Production System’ and delivered a keynote lecture on the topic ‘Sustainable Inland Fisheries Development in Eastern Himalayan Region: Role of ICAR-CIFRI’.

Besides Dr. B.K. Das was also the special guest in the valedictory session of the conference. During his address in the valedictory session, he stressed upon developing the fisheries sector and strengthening of fisheries discipline in Krishi Vigyan Kendras of North-East India.
