Three days training programme on “Management of open water fisheries for doubling the farmers' income” at ICAR-CIFRI, Prayagraj

Three days Training programme ICAR-CIFRI, Prayagraj conducted a training programme on “Management of open water fisheries for doubling the farmers' income” during 26-28th November 2024. The three days training programme was inaugurated by Dr B. K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore through online mode.

Total 20 participants, 2 females and 18 male participated in the programme. They were from different districts viz. Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Jammu & Kashmir. Participants were from different backgrounds viz. state officials, farmers, traders and students. Basic concepts of fish farming along with latest technology for aquaculture viz. RAS, Bio-flock, Cage culture, Pen culture were covered in the training along with testing of water and sediment quality. Experts from different field of fisheries were resource persons which includes Dr Absar Alam, Dr V. R. Thakur, Dr Jeetendra Kumar, Dr Vikas Kumar, Dr Gunjan Kranataka, Dr Dharm Nath Jha, and Dr M. D. Aklakur,. Mr. Vijay Kumar and other staff of the centre assisted in the smooth conduct of the programme.
