Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, honourable Minister of State for Rural Development and Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Govt of India visited ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore today 05 September 2023.

The Director, ICAR-CIFRI briefed her about the achievement of the institute and impact of ICAR-CIFRI work on fishers in India. Honourable minister appreciated the efforts of ICAR-CIFRI for the development of inland fisheries sector in India.
During the visit, honourable minister visited different laboratories, Ornamental fish unit and other experimental units of the institute and interacted with the scientists and other senior officers regarding the work and activities carried out by the institute for the betterment of society.

Honourable Minister congratulated all the staff members for the work carried out on the livelihood enhancement of rural communities through inland fisheries in different states of India.
