ICAR-CIFRI Signed MOU with Government of Andhra Pradesh

ICAR– Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute has signed a memorandum of understanding with Andhra Pradesh Fisheries Department in the august presence of Shri. Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy, honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on World Fisheries Day 21st November 2022 on the sidelines of Foundation laying ceremony of AP Aqua University at Narasapuram, West Godavari District Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh stands first in total fish production in the country and represents as aqua hub of India. Maintaining the status, the Government have envisaged to utilization of state fishery resources to optimum for enhancing the productivity and production of fish in sustainable manner. ICAR-CIFRI as the Knowledge Partner shall work in collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh for extending their technical services related to
• Development of sustainable fisheries model including Reservoir-wise management plan for establishing cage culture in the state; Seed development in Pen culture; Stocking of fish & prawn seed in Reservoirs in objective manner etc.
• Dissemination and adoption of various ICAR-CIFRI technologies
• Design framework for Cost Effective Laboratories at RBK level and vision building for Fisheries University.
Dr.(Smt). Poonam Malakondiah IAS, Special Chief Secretary (Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries) Govt of Andhra Pradesh and Shri. Kanna Babu, IAS, Commissioner of Fisheries Andhra Pradesh were present on the occasion.
