One Day One line training programme at ICAR-CIFRI, Prayagraj

An one day training program in online mode was organized by the ICAR-CIFRI, Prayagraj entitled “Importance of River Ranching for Fish Conservation and Livelihood Improvement of Fishers on 02/03/2021 wherein more than 50 participants attended the above said training program including representatives of Nehru Gram Bharti University, Ganga Vichar Manch, WII and fishermen’s, students and stakeholders who are directly or indirectly associated with River Ganga. Dr. D.N.Jha, Head ICAR-CIFRI, Prayagraj welcomed all the participants and briefed about the training program. Dr.B.K. Das Director ICAR-CIFRI mentioned about the role of CIFRI in fish diversity conservation through ranching in river Ganga and also narrated the efforts taken towards Hilsa breeding by CIFRI. Dr. Sandeep Behera Consultant NMCG stated the how NMCG working towards biodiversity conservation including Dolphins etc. and also shared his past experience. The process of ranching By ICAR-CIFRI and role of water and soil quality has been elaborated by Dr. R.K.Manna from Barrackpore. The importance & fish diversity of river Ganga was discussed by the Dr. Absar Alam and how ranching helping in fish conservation as well as in improving fishers income was stated by Dr. Monika gupta The training program concluded with formal vote of thank proposed by Dr. V.R.Thakur, Scientist, ICAR-CIFRI, Prayagraj.
