Training program on “Ecosystem modelling: towards management of inland fisheries” organized by the Bangalore Research Centre of ICAR-CIFRI during 21-25 October 2019

A training program on “Ecosystem modelling: towards management of inland fisheries” was organized by the Bangalore Research Centre of ICAR-CIFRI during 21-25 October 2019 at Bangalore. There were 16 participants, including scientists, university faculty, technical officer and research scholars, from various organizations. The objective of the training program was to introduce the basic concepts and procedures of modelling aquatic ecosystems using the Ecopath with Ecosim (EWE) software. Concepts of the temporal module (Ecosim) and the spatio-temporal module (Ecospace) were also introduced. There were both theory sessions as well as hands-on practical sessions to acquaint the participants in using the EWE software. The program was organized under the guidance of Dr. B. K. Das (Director, ICAR-CIFRI), co-ordinated by Dr. Preetha Panikkar (officer in-charge of Bangalore Research Centre) along with scientists, Mr. M. Feroz Khan and Ms. Sibina Mol S.
