Tribute to Bharat Ratna, Late “Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji” former Prime Minister of India on his first monthly death anniversary on 16/09/2018 at ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore

ICAR-CIFRI organized a programme of recital of poems of Bharat Ratna late “Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji” former prime minister of India on his first monthly death anniversary on 16/09/2018 at 3:00 PM. The programme was conducted as per instruction received from the council letter F. No. 13/57/2018-Cdn.Tech, dated 12 September, 2018 and guidance received by Dr. B. K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI. In the programme, staff members of the Institute, including Scientists, Administrative, Technical & Supporting besides Research Scholars and other invited guests, poets and literary figures were present. The programme started with offering floral tributes to the late “Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji”. At the outset, Dr. R. K. Raman, Scientist-cum-General Secretary of CIFRI recreation club welcomed all and enlightened them briefly about the life journey and achievements of late Sh. Vajpayee Ji. There were around thirty recitations of poems vy Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji was recited, such as : “आओ फिर से दिया जलाएँ, क़दम मिलाकर चलना होगा, दूध में दरार पड़ गई, मनाली मत जइयो, राह कौन सी जाऊँ मैं?, यक्ष प्रश्न, अमर है गणतंत्र, जंग न होने देंगे, गीत नहीं गाता हूँ, नए मील का पत्थर, मौत से ठन गई, झुक नहीं सकते etc. Smt. Renu Khanna, a poet aged 85 years and editor of Hindi magazine, SANKALP, Jharkhand, actively participated, recited poem and shared some life events of late Vajpayee Ji. Sh Rajeev Lal, CAO, ICAR CIFRI highlighted the personality traits, visionary decision making ability, political as well as literary achievements of the great leader. Shri S K Sahu, Scientist and Dr B K Behera, Pr Scientist recited the poems composed by the late leader and elaborated on his Jan-Nayak image. The programme concluded with Vote of Thanks, proposed by Dr. Suman Kumari, Scientist & Asst. General Secretary of CIFRI recreation club.
